Pokernews.com: Future of poker kickstarter

326 horsepower and 465 pound-feet of torque are produced by it

Crowdfunding websites like Kickstarter allow aspiring business owners to look for capital for a variety of initiatives, including poker-related ones.

Hundreds of projects involving card decks, movies, games, and poker accessories have been funded by Kickstarter in the past few years, including the Poker Tilt book project by three-time World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelet winner Dutch Boyd, Bobby Crosby’s collection book of +EV Poker Comics, and many more.

There aren’t many small- to medium-sized poker-related projects on Kickstarter right now. Continue reading to learn more about the initiatives that will soon come to an end.

Playing Cards Omnia

As of right now, Omnia Playing Cards stands as the most active poker-related project on the site, having surpassed its $10,000 initial goal and raised $39,253 from 673 backers.

Three distinct decks of cards with “ancient symbology” created by Giovanni Meroni, a designer for Thirdway Industries, and printed with Master Finish by Expert Playing Cards Co. comprise the project.

The project is accepting pledges from $12 for a choice between the Omnia Oscura and Omnia Illumina card types to $118 for a block of twelve decks that includes a complimentary box courtesy of a Stretch Reward. Higher-end pledges were formerly offered, but they are now all sold out.

A third limited edition Omnia Suprema deck is also available for pledges, and you can also purchase add-ons for an Omnia Pecunia and an Omnia Suprema Uncut sheet.

Meroni also achieved success with his prior poker project, Delirium Playing Cards, which he funded with $346 backers on Kickstarter and raised $11,686. Other cards he invented, such as The Evil Deck and The Good Deck, are also sold by his company.

We wouldn’t be surprised if Meroni has left the poker industry behind, given the popularity of this enterprise. If you enjoy custom created decks, keep a look out for any future projects that this talented artist may introduce. They make excellent collectables or props for your upcoming home poker game.

On Thursday, July 2, the Omnia Playing Card project comes to an end. For additional information, visit the project page for the Omnia Playing Cards.

Playing Cards & Strategic Card Game: Celtic Myth

With $9,096 of the $10,500 goal already pledged, the Celtic Myth Playing Cards & Strategic Card Game (USPCC) initiative appears to be successful as well.

There isn’t much time left until the project ends on June 26, but it is still achievable.

The Cultúrlán Team, a trio of artists consisting of James Acken, Jay Henry, and Todd Silverstein, has created three projects in total. This is the third of them. The United States Playing Card Company (USPCC) will print the cards according to the project description.

Although these cards can be used for poker, Ard Rí (High King), a new card game for two to five players, maybe the primary draw for those who are considering pledging. The rules for the game are provided in each pledge.

One complimentary deck is promised, with pledges starting at $10. Additionally, there are pledge levels and add-ons that guarantee uncut sheets, Challenge Coins, and all three of the decks created so far.

To date, one kind contributor has contributed $5,000 to become a Benefactor, which entitles them to four bricks from each deck, an uncut page from each deck, and a mention in the ARD RÍ official rules. If you enjoy unique games and collectable card decks, the project is still looking for backers at all pledge levels, including one additional Benefactor.

A Poker Night

Jack Forbes, a filmmaker and student at Northwestern University, made a smaller film called Poker Night. The project’s $1,000 target was shattered when seven contributors contributed a total of $2,555.

The movie’s central idea revolves around a young lady interfering with her mother’s at-home poker game. Support for equipment rentals, production design costs, insurance, crew costs, transportation, post-production costs, and distribution costs was requested for the project.

Contributions ranged from $10 (to have your name included in the credits) to $500, which would bring you a handwritten message of thanks, a DVD of the movie, credit as an executive co-producer in the movie, and an invitation to the premiere of the show.

Hybrid Poker – Smoking Aces

A new poker variation called Smoking Aces – Pawnjoker Games provides Hybrid Poker and uses a unique deck of cards. Since its June 12 start, the initiative has raised $697 of the $4,000 it set out to raise.

Even if the campaign doesn’t end until July 10, with only 17% of the goal reached by then, it doesn’t appear like this project will fulfil its goal. Pledges are also fairly priced, with prices ranging from $1 to $50; however, in order to obtain the necessary deck of cards for the game, a minimum investment of $8 is required.
